Prepaid Electricity Billing Automation Using Proximity Reader

 

 

The need for the “Prepaid Electricity Billing Automation Using Proximity Reader” is to update the current system of Electricity Billing. 

Operation:

The user should by a Proximity card for a particular amount from the EB.  The Card number will be registered in the database of the EB.  Then When the user comes to his house and shows the card to the reader the card amount will be automatically credited to his balance say for Eg. 1000 Rs or 2000 Rs.  So he can consume the electricity up to his balance.  The user will be given a Recharge notification (Visual(LED) ) While there is a balance of 20% of Amount and Audio(ALARM) Alert indication while there is a balance of 10% of Amount.  The user has online cost display feature to know how much electricity he can consume thro that card.   This project has the following features included in it.  Since the prox card has  a unique RFID the system serves as  a fool proof system.  The system has Mutual benefits to both the user and the EB. It Includes

User Side:

(1). Online Cost Display:

Cost Display for the unit consumed for the individual in his house.

(2). Online KWH Display:

          Displays the Power consumed and also the Kilo Watt Hour

EB Side:

(4). Automatic Tripping of User:

          If the card is invalid the user will be tripped immediately.

(5). Printing Facility:

          At any point of time Printout can be taken from the database.

(6). Graphical Display for the KWH:

          Online Graphical Display of KWH of the user.     

Software:

          Software Compatibility with ‘C’ and Visual Basic.
